I love my body
My temple during this life
She carries me wherever I want to

She teaches me about earth
About loving and dancing
She teaches me about sadness, fear and anger
About boundaries of earthly existence
About protection I need

Like many I have not always listened
to the wisdom of my body
I’m sorry that the best I could be
Weighs heavy on her bones
I embrace the pain with love and compassion
Without letting it rule my existence.

I love you my sweet, beautiful body
Loyal despite all I put you through
I’m grateful for this joint journey
Unclear where you end and I begin
Body and soul entwined in this life.
